Picking up his clothes piece by piece, James Cassius quickly dressed himself. A loud yawn escaped his lips as he turned his body around to face the girl he’d just fallen asleep with by the fire. Jeans were pulled up tall, skinny legs and buttoned at the waist. A shirt was pulled over a smooth, well muscled chest. His shoes lay forgotten under the sofa and his hat was misplaced in an area unknown to him and everyone else. He’d fetch it later when he needed it, it wasn’t necessary right now. He was hungry and he couldn’t stay within the confines of the room for a second longer, because when James needed to ‘eat’ what was really meant was that he needed to eat. The twenty two year old male was no ordinary human. He was a vampire, and everyone knows what vampires needed to eat, right? It was common knowledge between everyone that vampires drank blood in order to sustain their full health and strength. It was also common knowledge that only the worst kind of vampires drank human blood for this. James and his family were different (by a small amount), they drank animal blood from the animal inhabitants of the forbidden forest, which is what he needed, and he needed it more than you could say ‘ice cream cake’.
Once dressed, brown hues looked over the sleeping figure, a smile touched his lips and moved to his eyes as he leaned across and down to pass a brief, yet sweet kiss over her lips before disappearing out of the window and into the night. James didn’t mean to leave her like that, but by now he knew that she’d know he just had to. Not because he wanted to. But because he had to do it; she knew that if he didn’t get to eat then strange, unpredictable things could happen, and she had been on the receiving end of one of his foodless days before- something he didn’t really want to experience again, and something that he was definitely sure that she didn’t want to experience again, either. Especially not in the presence of the others who thought he was a monster. James wasn’t a monster. Neither were his sisters and his brothers. None of them were monsters. Nor animals. They didn’t intentionally hurt people like their ancestors had before them. Years had passed and they’d grown up a little more, and learnt more manners. Table manners. Eating humans didn’t make you stronger, it just made you a murderer.
Slipping out of the window, James took one last glance at the girl he held close to his heart and dropped. He landed on his feet ten stories down and didn’t get hurt at all. Standing up his full height, James looked around and sniffed the air. The scent of something familiar hung strongly in the air as he started to run through the grounds. James licked his lips and followed the scent through the forest. The further he went the more the scent was interfered with by another scent. Something incredibly stronger, and something incredibly irresistible. He smiled to himself and scaled a tree at an impressive speed. Going from tree to tree in the blink of an eye before he found his eyes settled on an amusing scene. To the best of his knowledge, James hadn't seen anything quite like that before and once the scene unfolded completely he let out a laugh and moved over to feast on a mountain lion before settling himself against a tree and closing his eyes to relax.

Hayley turned around hoping to feel the body of her boyfriend. Nothing.. well he might be two inches away.. She stretched her arm but didn’t felt a body at all. She opened one eye slowly and saw nobody. She got up slowly covering her body with the blankets. She noticed the absence of her boyfriend and looked at the open window. She frowned and walked to the window with the blanket covering her body still. She smiled weakly and got back into bed.
He would come back. She know he would. He was a vampire and he needed to get food for himself or he would put himself into a difficult position and might be weak against her. Though she wasn’t completely human she still was half. Her parents were busy with trying to get her a full vampire but no one ever found out how. Not even her father who was a doctor. She closed her eyes.
The only thing she could think of was him. She placed her hand on the spot he was supposed to be and fell back in a pleasant sleep. She was in the hospital.. not knowing why that would be a good dream though she just waited. She saw her father with four needles. Each one made of piece of vampire teeth. They were the only things that could go through her body.
She saw the greenish venom in the needles and looked at her side. Her family was there and so was he. She smiled and felt an enormous pain in her arm as she woke up and looked around. Something hurt her so deep she just woke up. She grabbed her stomach. Food…. She got out of bed and changed into the clothes on the floor. She got downstairs with a quick made ponytail in her hair.
She grabbed a cup of yoghurt out of the fridge and grabbed a spoon. She sat down on the couch watching TV and eating her breakfast. When she was finished she got upstairs with a book in her hands and sat down on a chair close to the window. She looked outside hoping to see him.
